House Prices Climb $3K a week - 5th Jul 2016

Investors are snapping up homes ahead of new lending restrictions. House prices rose 5.6 % in three months across New Zealand, this is the fastest rate since 2004.

 
In Wellington itself, home values have increased by 5.1 % in the last three months. The average house price across the greater Wellington region is now $516,430. QV Wellington valuer Peter Geill said ‘We are seeing all properties selling, even monolithic sheathed homes, properties with poor interior layout or little sun that would have had strong buyer resistance a year ago’.
